OBJECTIVES
  • To help developing migrant workers in holistic way
  • To equip those migrant workers to be ready and fit for spreading the good news through life and deeds.
  • To help and care other fellow migrant workers
BACKGROUND
    Migrant workers from Delta, Pyay, Paletwa and other areas are moving into Yangon because fo the the democratization in Myanmar, economic change and development, lack of job opportunities in rural area, more job opportunities in cities, Yangon.

    They are in the need of housing, jobs, capacity building and further career development, health care, care for spirituality
DISCIPLE GROUP (1): PADAMYAR MYO THIT


There are regularlly 60 participant and totally 120 congregation. The activities are as follows:

  • Regular Sunday service and home visit (inclusive praise and worship)
  • Prayer cell & bible study, regular sundayschool (4 teachers)
  • Tithe giving practice
  • Training Sunday school teachers
  • Outreach activities at Phaunggyi area (care children)
  • Capacity building program (future: to open English classes, to build church, to set up migrant training center
  • Handful of rice donation program from Singapore – supporting 20 needy families
  • Teaching English classes
  • To build proper worship building and later migrant care center
  • 2 confirmation candidates
DISCIPLE GROUP (2): MYO ORPHANAGE


There are 70 children in this area. Up to now the church has assisted in repairing the current buildings, building new toilets before the monsoon season. Occasionally the local churches visited and made some contributions, such as rice, clothing, stationary etc. Currently, the church is assisting the spiritual needs, providing two seminarians for teaching religious education weekly (preparing for baptism and confirmation classes). Arrangements are being made for baptism and confirmation classes, connecting with st. Georges’ and St. Michaels’ for baptism and confirmation service.

DISCIPLE GROUP (3): HLAING THAR YAR


There are regularlly 20 participants and totally 52 congregation. They are mostly migrants from delta and taungoo. Regular sunday worship service and home visit are performed alternatively. The migrants are not interested in capacity building, but, only want to earn regular money. A new building is to complete soon for this area. They also receive some amount of education scholarship for some children from local churches.
